Number 03.04.11 Division Student Affairs Enrollment Management Date February 12, 2015 Purpose The purpose of this policy is to publish and make available in a standard format the Admissions Requirement Policy for Transfer Students to the campus community. This information will be beneficial for campus partners to be mindful and familiar with as recruitment and enrollment continue to be a campus wide-initiative. Policy Students who have enrolled and received credit from another institution may be offered admission to the University of Alabama in Huntsville as a transfer student. The policy on transfer admission allows for requirements to be put into place that ensures the academic quality of the University’s students to remain high and that students are academically prepared as they continue to seek degrees. Procedure A student may be offered admission to the University of Alabama in Huntsville as a transfer student if: The student has maintained a 2.0 GPA while enrolled at another institution. An applicant must be in good standing at previous institution. The student has completed a minimum of 24 credit hours. These credit hours must come from a regionally accredited university or college. The credits that a student has earned must be transferrable and academic classes (technical classes cannot be transferred and used for credit). Review This policy should be reviewed on an annual basis by the Director of Admissions. Recommendations from the Transfer Coordinator should also be taken in consideration during the review.
