Number 03.04.09 Division Student Affairs Enrollment Management Date February 12, 2015 Purpose The purpose of this policy is to publish and make available in a standard format the Admissions Requirement Policy for Transfer Freshmen to the campus community. This information will be beneficial for campus partners to be mindful and familiar with as recruitment and enrollment continue to be a campus wide-initiative. Policy Students who have enrolled and received credit at another institution may be offered admission to the University of Alabama in Huntsville. The policy on transfer freshmen admission will allow for requirements to be put into place that ensures the academic quality of the University’s students remain high and that students are academically prepared to continue seeking their degree. Procedure A student may be offered admission as a transfer freshman if: The student submits an application for admission. The student has completed less than 24 academic credit hours. The student’s high school GPA was at minimum a 2.9. The student’s college GPA was at minimum a 2.0 A college transcript must be provided to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions along with a letter of good standing. A final official high school transcript must be submitted with the student’s date of graduation to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. SAT/ACT scores must be submitted if the student has been out of high school less than five years. The SAT score must be a minimum of a 970 (math and critical reading only). The ACT score must be a minimum of a 20. Review This policy should be reviewed on an annual basis by the Director of Admissions. Recommendations from the Transfer Coordinator should also be taken in consideration during the review. Any and all changes or updates should be communicated immediately.
