Number 07.07.10 Date August 1998, Revised December 2020 Division Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development -Office of Environmental Health and Safety (OEHS) Purpose The purpose of the UAH Hazardous Waste Management Plan (HWMP) is to protect the health and safety of faculty, staff students, and the environment while complying with Title 40 of the Federal Code of Regulations at part 262. It provides generalized rules and guidelines for management of hazardous waste at UAH. Policy The HWMP must be followed by all members of the UAH community including faculty, staff, and students at all times. Revisions to the HWMP will be reviewed and approved by the UAH Environmental Health and Safety Committee. Colleges, departments, or other units using or generating hazardous waste are responsible for maintaining accurate records to track hazardous materials from their purchase or generation through their storage and disposal.
